New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ The New Jersey Jackal offense struggled mightily once again in game two of a three game set against the Elmira Pioneers, while falling 3-0 at Dunn Field. It was the first shutout recorded by Elmira in 2005.

For a second consecutive night, the Elmira Pioneers jumped out on top 3-0, and once again a couple of Jackal miscues helped them. Isaac Pavlik and Jake Whitesides both committed errors in the frame, putting the Jackals in an early hole, and that is where they would stay. Sadly, it would be the only scoring in the entire ballgame.

The Jackal bats were sluggish, only managing five hits, and eight base runners total in the ballgame. No batter advanced past second base.

Brian Ford was phenomenal in eight innings pitched. He completely shut out the Jackals, scattering four hits, walking one, and striking out five, while picking up the victory.

Isaac Pavlik suffered the loss in a six inning appearance. Pavlik gave up four hits, walked two, and fanned six, while surrendering three runs, and only one earned.
