
New England Riptide returning home to Lowell for nine games

LOWELL, Mass. (June 19, 2006) - The New England Riptide women's professional softball team returns home from an eight-game away trip in Arizona and Toronto for a nine-game home stand starting June 27 in an exhibition game against the Israel National Team.
Back-to-back four-game home series follow against the defending playoff champion Akron Racers (June 28-July 1) and Philadelphia Force (July 5-8).
The June 29 contest against The Racers will be taped live and shown the following Saturday afternoon (July 1) on Fox Sports Net New England. The play-by-play announcer will be Jon Meterparel, the radio voice of Boston College football and "flashboy" for WEEI's Dennis & Callahan show. The color analyst will be former New England Riptide player Sara Jewett, of Haverhill.
Four other New England Riptide home games will be televised: July 19 vs. China National Team, July 27 vs. Connecticut Brakettes, August 3 vs. Arizona Heat, August 16 vs. Texas Thunder.

Teammate Lyndsey Angus (Kentucky), of Leominster, is fifth in league hitting with a .409 average and RBI (9)
