New England Revolution News Release
Foxborough, Mass. - The New England Revolution today announced its 2007 schedule, a 30-game slate highlighted by an August 12 visit to Gillette Stadium by the Los Angeles Galaxy featuring international soccer icon David Beckham.
New England will play its first match of the 2007 season on Saturday, April 7, on the road against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. The Revolution will then open its home schedule on Saturday, April 14, with a special soccer doubleheader event at Gillette Stadium. Prior to the Revs' home opener against the league's newest team, Toronto FC, the U.S. Women's National Team will face the Mexico Women's National Team.
The Revolution will play six of its first eight matches on the road to open the season, and follows that stretch playing nine of its next 12 contests between May 26 and Aug. 12 at Gillette Stadium, capping the run with the game against the Galaxy and Beckham.
Among the many highlights of the midseason homestand is a contest against Real Salt Lake and its biggest off-season acquisition, former D.C United midfielder Freddy Adu.
The Revs will renew rivalries with some of MLS' top clubs this season, hosting Chicago at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, May 6, and welcoming its opponent in MLS Cup 2006 - the Houston Dynamo - on Sunday, July 22. D.C. United will travel to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 5, while the New York Red Bulls will come to town on Saturday, Aug. 25.
The Revolution will play each of the other six other MLS Eastern Conference squads three times this season, and each of the six Western Conference teams twice. Revs will play 19 games on Saturdays, seven on Sundays and four on Thursday evenings. The Revs' four scheduled Thursday contests - at Columbus on April 19, at D.C. on May 3, vs. Kansas City on Aug. 2 and at Colorado on Aug. 16 - will all be broadcast live on ESPN2 as part of the network's new "MLS Primetime" programming.
Center Circle Membership season ticket packages - which include tickets to all 15 Revolution home games, four additional soccer events and free parking, among many other amenities - are on sale now. Call 1-877-GET-REVS for more information about Revolution tickets.
