Klamath Falls Gems News Release

Fans will notice significant changes and improvements this spring and summer when attending games at Klamath's Kiger Stadium. The City of Klamath Falls, The Kiger Association, along with Jerry and Lisa Walker, owners of the Klamath Falls Gems, have pooled together resources for improvements at Kiger Stadium that will include the building of new ADA accessible men's and women's restrooms.

"We're excited about this project," said Don Ambers, long-time volunteer and Chairman of the Kiger Association that manages and operates the Stadium. "We're constructing a new building that will have modern ADA restrooms that will become a permanent part of the Stadium. I want to thank the City of Klamath Falls, the members of the Kiger Board, all the volunteers, and especially Jerry and Lisa Walker, of the Gems, as they provided the matching funds that "put us over the top financially" and made this possible," concluded Ambers.

In addition to the new building, that will be located down the first-base line at the Stadium, the outfield wall and Stadium facade and bleachers will receive a new coat of paint, along with many other improvements around the ballpark.

Much of the work is being done in preparation for the 2014 West Coast League All-Star Game that will be held at Kiger Stadium. "We're extremely happy to hear about the improvements that are already underway and that are planned for Kiger Stadium," commented West Coast League President, Dennis Koho. "The League wants to thank the many whom have volunteered to make this a reality and I especially want to thank Jerry and Lisa Walker for their steadfast dedication to baseball in Klamath Falls," said Koho.
