
Nevada Wolf Pack TE and 2005 MAC Champion Headline New Barons

RENO, NV (October 8, 2010) - Five new players have been named to the 2011 Reno Barons training camp roster. The group is headlined by former Nevada Wolf Pack Tight End Talaiasi Puloka Jr. and 2005 MAC Champion Ryan Johnson. Additionally local players Glenn Wallin, Brandon Cotter and Antonie Barlow have joined the Barons. The Barons will play the 2011 season in the American Indoor Football Association.
Talaiasi Puloka Jr. (6'4 240, Nevada). A graduate of Hug High School, Puloka played for the Nevada Wolf Pack from 2005-2010. He was used primarily as a tight end and in 2007 was part of an offensive line that helped Luke Lippincott become the WAC's leading rusher. In 2007, Puloka also caught his first career touchdown against Boise State.
Ryan Johnson (6'1 215, Akron). During his 5 seasons at Akron from 2003-2007, Johnson was used primarily as a nickel corner and on special teams as a returner. In 2005, Johnson was part of the MAC Championship squad. After his playing career, he served one year as a GA at Akron coaching defensive backs.
Glenn Wallin (6'2 195, University St. Mary Kansas). A graduate of Sparks High School, as the team captain for USM, he earned KCAC all-conference WR honors two years in a row for the 2008 and the 2009 season. Wallin also completed his 3 year career, 2007-2009 as the current all-time leading receiver in receptions and yards at USM, compiling 138 receptions, 1,141 yds, 11 td's in 25 total games. Game high: 2008 USM vs. SC; 12 receptions, 196 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Glenn was invited to participate in the Victory Sports Network All-Star Classic Senior Game on April 24, 2010.
Brandon Cotter (5'11 185, Feather River Community College/Nevada). A graduate of Reed High School, Cotter grabbed All-Northern Regional honors, Team All-High Desert and Class 4A All-State Prep Football Team Defensive Back. After the 2008 season at FRC, he was invited to the JCFootball.com NorCal Combine which featured the best junior college players across northern California. Cotter is currently finishing his degree at Nevada.
Antonie Barlow (6'3 220, Merced College). A graduate of Hug High School, Barlow was the Rookie of the Year for the Merced Blue Devils in 2003. In 2004, Barlow broke the school's 25-year old school record with 130 tackles for loss and was honored as Defensive Player of the Year and Blue Devil of the Year which was awarded for the best overall player.
