Nehring Named Oakley Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 7, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Arizona Sundogs forward Chad Nehring has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 6, 2013.

Nehring had an explosive offensive week scoring six goals and adding three assists in three games. He helped his team to wins in two of the three contests and scored the game winning goal in Monday's 8-2 victory over Bloomington. Along with scoring the game winner, the Springsdale, Saskatchewan native finished with four scores, the most in a single CHL game this year. He followed that up with two assists in Arizona's 4-2 win over Bloomington on Friday night and then had a pair of goals in his team's 6-3 loss to the Blaze on Saturday night.

The 5-11, 195-pound forward has scored seven goals in his last four games and has climbed into a tie for second in the league with 20 goals on the season. Overall he has 34 points (20-14=34), tied for 12th in the league in scoring.
