April 30, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Miracles News Release

Team owners of the National Basketball League of Canada met yesterday, April 29th 2014, in discussion of the upcoming 2014-2015 season; renewing their commitment to work together as a league in developing and bringing high-level professional basketball and entertainment to their respective cities. Through in-depth discussion and analysis of the 2013-2014 season, the owners decided upon changes to be made in the aim to continuously improve the league, thus enhancing the fan experience.

The 2014-2015 season will begin on November 1st 2014 and conclude at the end of February 2015, with a 32 game schedule. The 32 games will be played as 16 Home-Games and 16 Away-Games for each team. Through this new structure, the league intends to produce each Home-Game with a special-event focus. This structure will also assist many families and fans with busy schedule to avoid missing games throughout the season. The league will take a break this year during the Holiday Season, stretching from December 15th 2014 until December 25th 2014. Once again, this will assist busy families to avoid missing games during this hectic time of year.

The league has also implemented a change to the rule regarding the number of Canadian players required on each team roster. Starting in the 2014-2015 season, each NBL-C team will now be required to have 4 Canadian players (instead of the previous 3). Through this new rule, the league will be able to truly showcase the high-level Canadian athletic talent.

The protected player list for each team has been increased to 6 players, rather than the previous 5. In addition to this, NBL-C teams are now authorized to sign players at anytime during the off-season as opposed to the previous rule limiting signing to after the draft.

As the league moves forward into preparation for the 2014-2015 season, we are thrilled about the success of the 2013-2014 season and are excited about the growth to come. The Moncton Miracles are currently selling Season Tickets for the 2014-2015 Season.
