NBDL daily developments

April 9, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

WHAT WE KNOW: Today is the final day of the regular season and Columbus is the regular season champions. The Riverdragons have home court advantage throughout the 2005 NBDL Postseason Tournament presented by Delta Air Lines. Huntsville, Roanoke and Asheville are also in the postseason field, just not seeded yet.

WHAT WE ALSO KNOW: If Huntsville wins at Asheville tonight, the Flight is the #2 seed and will host a semi-final game on Friday, April 15 regardless of what happens between Columbus and Roanoke.

WHAT IF ASHEVILLE AND ROANOKE WIN? Roanoke is the #2 seed by virtue of the tie-breaker and will host a semi-final game Saturday, April 16 against Asheville. Huntsville will be the #4 and play at Columbus the same night.

I KNOW, BUT WHAT IF... both Huntsville and Roanoke win tonight? The Flight will be #2 and host the #3 Dazzle. Asheville will travel to Columbus. If Huntsville and Columbus both win tonight, then Roanoke is #3 over #4 Asheville via the tie-breaker.

CAN ASHEVILLE HOST? They can if they beat Huntsville and Columbus beats Roanoke tonight. The Altitude would then host Huntsville, and Roanoke would drop to the four seed and open the postseason at Columbus.

MEANWHILE AT THE CROWN: Fayetteville and Florida close the season trying to avoid spending the off-season in the NBDL cellar, but thanks to visits by SpongeBob and 76ers mascot Hip-Hop, the largest crowd of the evening may be at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville.

SMUSH ATTACK: Florida guard Smush Parker notched his second triple-double in six days, scoring 30 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and doling out 10 assists in the Flame's win at Asheville.

WELCOME BACK ISIAH: After missing six games with a hand injury, the NBDL's leading scorer returned to the Roanoke lineup with a vengeance on Friday, scoring 30 points and collecting 12 rebounds for the Dazzle.

RECORD FOR WINS: Huntsville set a new team record for wins in a season by earning its 27th Friday night against Roanoke.
