March 15, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
SPOT RESERVED: Half of the NBDL postseason field is set with the Columbus Riverdragons and Roanoke Dazzle guaranteed a spot in the sudden death format that begins the weekend of April 15-17. The other half of the field and seeding is yet to be determined.
NBDL ALUMNI CHECK...from Monday's NBA games
· Matt Carroll (Roanoke) scored a team-high 18 points in 23 minutes for
the Bobcats.
· Obinna Ekezie (Columbus) started his 20th game for the Hawks since
being called up on January 10.
· Devin Brown (Fayetteville) had 8 points and 6 assists in 28 minutes
for the Spurs.
· Chris Andersen (Fayetteville) missed last night's Hornets game with
an infected left elbow.
NEEDS TWO: Fayetteville point guard Omar Cook needs just two assists to break the NBDL single-season record of 306 set by current Charlotte Bobcats guard Cory Alexander with the Roanoke Dazzle in 2002-03. In 35 games this season Cook, who owns the singe-season record for assists per game at 9.0 (2003-04), has already dished out 305.

BACK TO SCHOOL: Roanoke coaches Kent Davison and Chucky Brown, along with the NBDL's leading rebounder James Thomas, will be reading to 150 students at Lee M. Waide Elementary School in Roanoke beginning at 1 p.m. ET today.
TODAY ON NBA TV AND ESPN: The March 12 edition of NBA Inside Stuff on ABC that featured the NBDL and the Florida Flame will re-air today at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN and at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
GATORADE POLL: Toronto Raptors guard Rafer Alston has captured 65% of the vote in this week's GATORADE Call-Up Poll on NBDL.com, which is asking which former NBDL player will garner the most NBA minutes played this season. Bobby Simmons of the Clippers is next with 18%. Simmons actually leads Alston by 338 total minutes through last night's games, 2,401 to 2,063.
