Published on December 17, 2004 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
HOT START: Columbus' victory over Roanoke on Thursday gives the Riverdragons claim to the best nine-game start in NBDL history at 8-1.
STREAKING SIX: Columbus' win over the Dazzle on Thursday was its sixth straight victory. Florida's loss to Asheville was its sixth consecutive defeat since winning the season-opener.
REBOUNDING BATTLE: Huntsville's Rodney Bias and Roanoke's James Thomas are staging an epic battle for league rebounding superiority, with Bias holding a slight 15.5 to 15.0 rebound per game edge. Bias claims more offensive boards at 6.2 to 5.5 per game, while Thomas has the edge on the defensive glass, 9.5 to 9.3.
TENNIS ANYONE? Opponents of the Clarksdale (Miss.) High School tennis team must have done a double-take when they looked across the net to see a 7-foot opponent staring back with racquet in hand. That's right, Huntsville Flight center Earl Barron was a member of his high school tennis team.
ONLY 11: The Florida Flame only scored 11 points in the third quarter against Asheville on Thursday, breaking the NBDL record for fewest points in a quarter. The previous record was 17 by the Roanoke Dazzle on March 10, 2002.
