I'LL TAKE DOUBLES FOR $500 ALEX: A trio of NBDL players has started the season with a bang, averaging a double-double almost two weeks into the season. Two of those wear the uniform of the Florida Flame, forward Kirk Haston (20.5 ppg, 14.5 rpg) and guard Kevin Braswell (10.0 ppg and 11.0 apg). Roanoke forward James Thomas joins the Flame tandem, averaging 13.0 points and 17.0 rebounds.
10.1 AN EARLY SEASON MEMORY: Rodney Bias was the first NBDL player to average double-digit rebounds for a season when he pulled down 10.1 for the Huntsville Flight last season. Already this season there are three players, including Bias, averaging double-figure boards. James Thomas of Roanoke leads the league at 17.0, followed by Bias at 16.5 and Florida's Kirk Haston at 14.5.
READING AND HOOPS: The Huntsville Flight will host 1,500 elementary school students at Wednesday's "School Days" game. Students that have met reading goals set by their schools and the Flight early in the school year are eligible to make the field trip to the game, which tips off at 11 a.m. CT.
