GREENVILLE, S.C., November 30 – The Columbus Riverdragons have acquired post player Obinna Ekezie from the National Basketball Development League available player pool, according to an announcement today by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Riverdragons head coach Jeff Malone. The Dragons waived center Jason Lawson.

A four-year NBA veteran, Ekezie was a second-round selection (37th overall) in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. Ekezie has played in 101 NBA games for Vancouver, Washington, Dallas and the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 2.8 points and 2.0 rebounds.

Lawson played in four games (three starts) for Columbus, averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.
