In addition to the Clippers, Murray also had stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, and New Jersey Nets.

Harwell comments - "I feel this is a great start for our organization to have an NBA first round draft choice as our first player signed. We are very excited to have Lamond on board, he is a great leader and I expect him to have a lot of influence on our younger players."

The International Basketball League, now in its fourth season, includes teams from China, Canada, and sixteen teams across the United States (See attached 'About the IBL' document for more information). "The IBL has a lot to offer the most talented players in the world, in that it's a great showcase, and is the only viable option for players this time of year who plan to play year around," said Harwell. "A great example of this is the IBL sent 102 players out of 216 on last years rosters over seas with contracts which shows the level of talent and opportunity for players around the world."

"Joining the LA Lightning is a great opportunity," said Murray. "I have expectations of an exciting and competitive season."

The Lightning will play their home games at the 1,500 seat Gilbert Sports Arena in Thousand Oaks, and will make their debut on April 18 with a home game against the Battle Creek Knights of Michigan.
