NBA Teams Invite Reno Bighorns Players to Training Camps

RENO, NEV., October 2, 2012 - Eight NBA teams feature former Reno Bighorns players in their training camps, including last year's NBA D-League All-Stars Andre Emmett and Blake Ahearn. NBA training camps started today.

Ahearn will be in camp with the Indiana Pacers and Emmett will be in camp with the Chicago Bulls. The two players led the Bighorns last season, with Ahearn being named to the All-NBA D-League First Team, while Emmett earned an All-NBA D-League Honorable Mention.

Other notable Bighorns in NBA training camps include Jeremy Lin, who signed a four-year, $28 million deal with the Houston Rockets over the summer, Danny Green with the San Antonio Spurs and Steve Novak with the New York Knicks. Both Green and Novak inked new deals this summer, Green getting a three-year, $11 million deal with the Spurs and Novak getting a four-year, $15 million deal from the Knicks.

The other Bighorns players in NBA training camps are: Donald Sloan (Cleveland Cavaliers), Tyler Honeycutt (Sacramento Kings), and Josh Selby (Memphis Grizzlies).

Lin, Honeycutt and Selby played for the Bighorns on assignment from NBA teams, while the other five played under D-League contracts.

Overall, there are one hundred and twenty three players with NBA Development League experience over the last 11 seasons that are featured on 2012-13 NBA training camp rosters, including 52 who spent time in the NBA D-League last season.
