TODAY AT NOON: The 2005-06 NBA Development League Defensive Player of the Year will be announced.

ALL D-LEAGUE: The 2005-06 All NBA Development League Team was announced Monday. The first team consists of Roanoke guards Will Bynum and Anthony Grundy, Austin forward Marcus Fizer, Fort Worth swingman Ime Udoka and Florida guard Andre Barrett. DOUBLE FISTED GATORADE: Anthony Grundy of the Roanoke Dazzle and James Lang of the Arkansas RimRockers earned GATORADE Call-Ups to the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors, respectively on Monday. Grundy and Lang increase the number of player promotions to 15 this season and 65 since the league began play in November 2001.

47 ON A CHARTER: Since March 17 Roanoke coach Kent Davison has watched a combined total of 47 points per game climb off a D-League bus and onto an NBA chartered flight. Will Bynum was leading the league at 24.0 ppg when he signed with Golden State on March 17. Anthony Grundy assumed the scoring mantle and was averaging 23.0 when he earned the GATORADE call to the Hawks on Monday.

THEY SAID IT: "In retrospect, we probably would have used it earlier...I hope the D-League grows in size so teams can have one or two teams per NBA team and they can run something that you're doing." ...Boston Celtics Coach Doc Rivers told the NY Times in regard to the D-League.
