BLAZING A TRAIL TO FORT WORTH: The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned rookies Martell Webster and Sergei Monia to the Fort Worth Flyers. The 15th and 16th NBA players to be assigned to the D-League this season, Webster and Monia will be in uniform when the Flyers visit the Austin Toros on Wednesday.
FIRST ACTION FOR GREEN: Boston Celtics forward Gerald Green, on assignment to Fayetteville, got his first D-League action Sunday in the MLK Showcase. Green played 24 minutes, scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds. He was 4-of-11 from the floor.

RETURN TO FORM: Tierre Brown has returned to the D-League in much the same fashion in which he left as the 2004 MVP. In two games since hanging his shingle with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Brown is averaging 18 points and has connected on 12-of-22 field goal attempts.
ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION: Not only does Roanoke guard Anthony Grundy lead the league in scoring (22.3), but he also leads the league in steals (2.5).
