TONIGHT'S SERIES INFO - Roanoke at Florida: Flame leads 4-2, but is on four-game losing skid. Dazzle 3-2 over last five games. - Austin at Fort Worth: Flyers lead 3-0. Toros have won three straight and four of last five.
DEFENSE RESTS: During Florida's four-game losing skid, the Flame defense has struggled as opponents are averaging 106.5 points per game, while shooting 48.6% from the field (157-323) and 44.8% from three-point range (26-58). The Flame is also averaging 18.3 turnovers per game while opponents are averaging only 13.3 during that span.
THIS WEEK IN THE D-LEAGUE: NBA TV's "This Week in the D-League" airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET featuring news, notes and highlights, as well as a feature on the recent Tulsa 66ers Fantasy Camp. Interviews include Albuquerque's Joe Shipp, Fort Worth coach Sam Vincent and D-League Senior Director of Basketball Operations and Player Personnel Chris Alpert.
ROCKERS AND 66ERS: In a game just recently added to the NBA TV schedule, the Tulsa at Arkansas game from December 22 will be aired today at 2 p.m. ET
NEED MORE RIMROCKERS? Arkansas guard Kareem Reid is scheduled to be a guest on "NBA TV Insiders" today at 7:20 p.m. ET
MVP RETURNS: The 2004 D-League MVP, Tierre Brown, was acquired by the Albuquerque Thunderbirds Wednesday. Brown, who played all of last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, is the only player to earned two first team All-D-League selections (2002-03, 2003-04).
AFFILIATION NIGHT: Friday is "Affiliation Night" in Fort Myers for the second of a two-game set against the Roanoke Dazzle. Miami HEAT PA announcer Mike B will take over the Germain Arena microphone and the HEAT Xtreme Team, a high-flying dunk ensemble, will be performing at the half.
THEY SAID IT: "I had just brought him in, and two days later he was gone right after the Showcase. The thing he really got out of it was a next-year invitation from the Lakers, and (he) went to camp and had a great camp. He wound up being their starting guard."...Austin coach Dennis Johnson, who coached Lakers guard Smush Parker with the Florida Flame at the 2005 MLK Showcase, told the Austin American-Statesman.
