North Shore Navigators News Release

Lynn, Mass.- As the start of the 2014 season quickly approaches for the North Shore Navigators the roster is starting to fill out. Last month, the team announced that nine players would return to the team and this week they added three new players, all from Wofford College. James Plaisted, Matt Ramsay, and Josh Simpson will all be joining the Navigators in their quest to make a push for the FCBL championship.

James Plaisted, a junior from Tullahoma, Tennessee, started in 34 of the 42 games he played in last year, with 29 starts at 1st base and 5 starts in left field. He finished last season batting .263 with 23 runs scored, 22 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. This season, Plaisted started off very strong with a .313 batting average entering the month of March.

Matt Ramsay, a junior from Hudson, Ohio, started 51 games last year for the Terriers. He split his start between catcher and designated hitter. Last season he batted .259 with 28 runs scored, 25 RBIs and 21 stolen bases. He has shown the ability to throw runners out while still stealing some bases on his own.

Josh Simpson, a sophomore from Union, South Carolina, will add a left-handed arm to Navigators pitching staff. Simpson had an up and down freshman year at Wofford last season but performed nicely while playing in a summer league in North Carolina.

Over the next few weeks, there will be more announcements about players joining the North Shore Navigators for the 2014 season.

The Navigators home schedule starts on Saturday, June 7th when the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs visit Fraser Field. Season tickets, group tickets and individual tickets can be purchased now by calling (781) 595-9400.
