Lynn, MA - Keeping in the spirit of the Futures League- giving opportunities to New England-based collegiate players- much of the success of the 2016 season will ride on the arms of these eight New England pitchers.
Brian Burke ... From Swampscott, MA ... Went to Bishop Fenwick High School ... 6' 3" 240-pound righty ... A junior at Curry College ... In 2015, went 4-2 in 7 starts with a 2.77 ERA.
Jackson Gillis ... From Wilmington, MA ... A senior at Wilmington High School ... Committed to Vanderbilt ... Potential top 5 round draft pick this June ... 6' 3" 225-pound lefty ... Fastball range 89-91 mph ... 171 strikeouts in 97 innings over the past 2 seasons.
Evan Glew ... From North Andover, MA ... A freshman at Northern Essex Community College ... This 6' 2" 170-pound lefty racks up Ks with a dominant curve ball.
Cam Lanzilli ... From Stoneham, MA ... A freshman at UMass Lowell, where he will pitch out of the bullpen ... 6' 3" 205-pound lefthander ... Attended The Dexter School where he played football, basketball, and baseball.
John Lavoie ... 2015 Navigator from Medford, MA ... A junior at St. Anselm ... 6' 0" 185-pound righthander ... Went 2-2 last summer for the Navs.
Nick Malatesta ... From Wrentham, MA ... A sophomore at St. Joseph's College (Maine) ... 6' 2" 155 pounds ... A number 2 starter for the Monks this spring.
Sean O'Neill ... From Reading, MA ... A sophomore at Brandeis University ... 6' 0' 190 pounds ... Outstanding 5-2 record with a 2.18 ERA as a freshman.
Will Twiss ... From Middleton, MA and Masconomet Area High School ... Was part of the 2014 state champion team ... 6' 0" 185-pound sophomore at Salem State ... Was 3-2 in 7 starts as a freshman ... Impressed with his walk control- only 7 in 44 innings.
