North Shore Navigators News Release
(Lynn, MA) - The North Shore Navigators have officially taken their first step toward summer as they have announced that Beau Myers of Appalachian State University has signed a contract to join the team in 2016. The announcement came from General Manager Bill Terlecky on Friday afternoon.
Myers, a current freshman at Appalachian State, had a stellar high school career that landed him as the second best outfielder from the state of North Carolina. The Navigators will also look to use this highly touted recruit at third base during the course of the summer season.
As the younger brother of the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year and current San Diego Padre, Wil Myers, Beau adds to the list of Navigator players with family connections to the big leagues. Other players include Conor Biggio (son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio), Cody Dent (son of Bucky Dent) and Tyler Zupcic (son of former Red Sox outfielder Bob Zupcic).
It's never too early to start think about baseball season, and the Navs will be back in action for our home opener on Saturday, June 4th at 6 PM. Be sure to mark your calendars, get your tickets, and be part of our summer fun!
