
Nauts take two from Thunder

Little Falls, NJ- Centerfielder Venus Taylor brought in shortstop Lyndsey Klein with a single to right field in the sixth inning plate the winning run for the NY/NJ Juggernaut in a 2-1 win over the Texas Thunder. The Juggernaut took the series from the Thunder, winning two of the three games. Taylor finished 1-for-2 on the night with an RBI and Klein was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Klein was also recently earned a spot on the NPF East All-Star team.
NY/NJ starter Kaci Clark (4-3) then pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh to secure the win. Clark went seven complete innings, giving up one run on four hits, three walks, and five strike outs. Texas starter Christa Williams pitched 6 full innings giving up two runs on six hits, one walk, and two strikeouts.
The Thunder drew first blood in the first inning when catcher Selena Collins singled to right-center to score leadoff hitter Kristen Zaleski. Collins was 1-for-2 with an RBI and Zaleski went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Nauts' catcher Germaine Fairchild brought in their first run of the game in the second inning with a two-out base hit that scored Klein.
