LITTLE FALLS, NJ....The NY/NJ Juggernaut will celebrate Women in Sports Day on Monday, July 19th at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center. Sue Enquist, the head softball coach of UCLA, Ariana Solimando, a former Emerson High School softball player who was paralyzed last year, and Monica Garret, the Senior Manager of the Women's Sports Foundation, will all be speaking at the event.

This all-day event will begin at 3 pm with a screening of a UCLA Softball documentary, and a panel discussion featuring Garrett, Enquist, and the Juggernaut. Enquist has been the head coach of the 2004 Women's College World Series Champions for 15 years and has coached them to 10 NCAA Division I championships. She's been named the PAC-10 Coach of the Year twice in 1995 and '99, and was also an NCAA All-American in 1978 as a player for UCLA.

Garrett will be the keynote speaker at 5:15 pm and will be followed by Solimando who will also speak. Garrett is the senior manager of the Women's Sports Foundation which is an organization dedicated to ensuring equal access to participation and leadership opportunities for all girls and women in sports and fitness. They also aspire to increasing women's participating in sports and educating the public to support gender equality in athletics. Eighteen year-old former Emerson softball player, Solimando was paralyzed in a diving accident in Belmar last August and is planning on speaking about how softball has taught her to deal with life off the field.

The celebration will conclude at the Montclair State University Softball Stadium, where the Juggernaut will take on the California Sunbirds at 7:35 pm. Admission to the event is $6 plus a ticket to the Juggernaut game.
