Juggernaut team up with Harlem RBI

Hempstead, NY--The New York Juggernaut, the metropolitan areas only women's professional fastpitch softball team, is teaming up with Harlem RBI and Major League Baseball to put on a free softball clinic on Saturday, July 16 for the 75 girls, ages 13-18, participating in the Harlem RBI softball league. The Juggernaut, last year's defending National Pro Fastpitch Champions, are coached by 1996 Gold Medalist, Julie Smith and also feature shortstop Natasha Watley, a 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist. The clinic will be held at the Harlem RBI Field of Dreams in East Harlem, New York, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a barbeque to follow. The field is located on East 101st Street betweebetween Firstn 1st and Second Avenues.

After the clinic, Juggernaut athletes will participate in the New York Mets "Take HER Out to the Ball Game" night at Shea Stadium, where all female fans will receive a Mets Visor courtesy of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. Additionally, all of the Harlem RBI clinic participants will be admitted to the game courtesy of the New York Mets.

Harlem RBI is one of New York City's most innovative and successful non profit youth organizations, using. The organization uses sports, namely baseball and softball, to engage hundreds of inner city youth, ages seven to eighteen, in year-round sports, education and enrichment programs. Today, Harlem RBI prides itself on being a community-based organization that holistically integrates the benefits of sports activity, the power of teams, and youth development programs. The organization provides an enduring commitment to over 450 youth throughout their childhood and adolescence, and a stable and inspiring environment where these children can play, learn, and grow.

Following the Harlem RBI clinic, the Juggernaut will be putting on a fastpitch demonstration before the Mets game at Shea Stadium. Look for the fastpitch athletes outside Gate A. The New York Juggernaut will be arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m. to begin the skills demonstration, which will include live pitching, hitting tips with the pros and an autograph session. Take some time out prior to the Mets game to witness some serious fastpitch skills by New York's very own professional softball team, the New York Juggernaut.
