
Nate Chavious Signs with Cedar Rapids

The River Kings have signed running back Nate Chavious to it's 2019 roster.
Chavious (5'10", 200), comes to Cedar Rapids after a very successful career at Sacred Heart in Connecticut. While a Pioneer, Chavious racked up 3,715 all-purpose yards, second most in Sacred Heart history. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry which is also second most in Sacred Heart history.
He led Sacred Heart in rushing yards (737) in 2016, including a career-high 160 yards and a career-high tying two touchdowns against Cornell in a 31-24 win for the Pioneers. His effort against the Big Red earned him Northeast Conference Play of the Week honors.
Chavious rushed for over 100 yards twice in 2016, against Marist (125) and Cornell (160). He also had two touchdowns against Cornell and Robert Morris. All three games were wins for Sacred Heart.
He finished the year with 1,498 all-purpose yards, which is third in Sacred Heart history.
During the 2017 season, Chavious rushed for 490 yards despite only playing in the final eight games of the season. He averaged 75.8 yards per game and 4.3 in those eight games. He also had 82 receiving yards for a 10.3 yard average in 2017.
In 2015 Chavious played in ten total games, rushing for 573 yards and nine touchdowns. He had a season-high 130 rushing yards and 211 all-purpose yards against Wagner and eclipsed the 100-yard mark against Bryant (112 yards).
Chavious is originally from Bellport, New York and attended Bellport High School.
