Nastiuk named Greyhound WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Kevin Nastiuk of the Medicine Hat Tigers. Nastiuk earned player of the week honours by recording three wins and a loss to eliminate the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL Eastern Conference Championship series four games to two. Nastiuk recorded a 2.27 goals against average and a 0.907 save percentage in the final four games of the series.

On Tuesday, April 20th, Nastiuk recorded 27 saves in 3-1 road loss against the Rebels in Game 3. On Wednesday, April 21st, Nastiuk stopped 22 shots he faced in a 2-1 road victory against the Rebels in Game 4.

On Friday, April 23rd, Nastiuk recorded 20 saves in a 4-3 home victory in Game 5. On Sunday, April 25th, Nastiuk made 19 saves in a 4-2 road win in Game 6 to help Medicine Hat win the best of seven series four games to two against the Red Deer Rebels.

Nastiuk, from Edmonton, Alberta, was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
