From the Notes

A Sinking Ship: For the first time since May 9 when they were 15-17, the Sounds are two games below .500. Their low water mark for the season is three games, which the Sounds last were on April 13 when they were 3-6.

History Against El Paso: The Sounds and Chihuahuas series dates back to 2014 with the Chihuahuas holding a 10-6 advantage. The lone series win for Nashville came in 2014 when the Sounds took three of four from El Paso at Southwest University Park.

The Last Time at Southwest University Park: The last time the Sounds played in El Paso was July 14-17 of 2016 when they won three of four games. The bats exploded as the Sounds outscored the Chihuahuas, 45-17, and had 65 hits. Bruce Maxwell had a memorable series by hitting .611 (11-for-18) with 10 RBI, 7 runs, 4 home runs, 1 double and 2 walks.

A New Trend Emerging: After winning their first 24 games when leading after seven innings, Nashville has now suffered back-to-back setbacks in that situation. Nashville entered the seventh inning of Monday's game against Tacoma with a five-run lead but fell 8-6 for its largest blown lead of the season. They were one of only two teams in the PCL (Tacoma, 28-0) to not have a loss when leading that late in a game.

Thank You, Sir, May I have Another (Martini): First Baseman Nick Martini extended his on-base streak to 45 games with a walk in the third inning and extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a single in the ninth Monday night. His on-base streak is the longest active streak in Minor League Baseball and is tied with Fresno's Tyler White's streak of 45 games from April 5 - May 24. His 14-game hitting streak is the longest of his career and tied for the second-longest active streak in the PCL. With a hit tonight, Martini would become the first Sounds player to hit safely in 15 straight games since Logan Schafer had a 17-game streak from July 1 - August 21, 2014.
