From the Notes

A+ Work: Tonight's starting pitcher for the Sounds is Matt Milburn, who is making a spot start up from Advanced-A Stockton. Since 2016 the Sounds have had three players make the jump from Single-A or Advanced-A to Nashville for spot starts. Dustin Hurlbutt and Dalton Sawyer made spot starts in 2017 while James Naile did in 2016. Overall they are a combined 1-3 with a 9.13 ERA (22.2 IP/23 ER). Naile picked up the lone win of the bunch on May 29, 2016 when he allowed three runs on six hits in 5.1 innings at Salt Lake City.

Hovering Around the .500 Mark: For the majority of the 2018 season, the Sounds have been plus or minus two games of the .500 mark. Entering the 47th day of the season today, the Sounds have spent all but two days within two games of being .500. The only two days the team hasn't been that close to the mark was entering the April 10 game vs. Iowa at 1-4, and entering the April 14 game against Omaha at 3-6.

Keep the Martini Coming: Outfielder/First Baseman Nick Martini has reached safely in a team-high 30 consecutive games. Since April 14, Martini has reached in every game he has played in, and is hitting .323 (31-for-96) with 16 RBI, 19 runs, 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 27 walks. It is the second-longest active streak in the Pacific Coast League. The 30-game streak is the second-longest such streak for the Sounds since MLBAM began tracking the statistic in 2009. Eugenio Velez reached base safely in 36 consecutive games in 2013. Martini is first in the PCL with 33 walks.
