Nashville SC Update

April 16, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Nashville SC News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  - Following a bye week, Nashville SC returns to play by traveling to South Florida to take on Inter Miami CF on Saturday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. CT. It will be the teams' third encounter so far this season after meeting twice in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 (a 2-2 draw and 3-1 Miami victory).

Two new rules will debut in all MLS matches this weekend: the Timed Substitution Rule and the Off-Field Treatment Rule (OTR). Under these rules, players being substituted out of the match will have a maximum of 10 seconds to leave the field of play, and players who receive medical attention from medical staff on the field of play may be required to leave the field of play for two minutes. If a player violates the Timed Substitution Rule, the player subbing into the match cannot enter play until the first stoppage following a 60 second holding period, leaving the offending team shorthanded.

Nashville SC's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Huntsville City Football Club will conclude a two match homestand when they host MLS NEXT Pro newcomer Chattanooga FC on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. CT at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. HCFC began its season at Chattanooga on March 16, a 2-2 draw.
