
Nash named NLL defensive player of the week

DENVER - Colorado Mammoth goaltender Gee Nash has been named the National Lacrosse League's defensive player of the week.
Nash turned away 38 shots and allowed just six goals in the Mammoth's 13-7 home win over the Portland LumberJax on Saturday. He collected 11 loose balls in the Week 9 victory, helping the Mammoth improve to 9-1.
Nash, who was named the league's top player for Week 2, is 8-0 and leads the league with a 9.99 goals-against average and .800 save percentage. He was recently selected for the NLL All-Star Game on March 10 in Portland, Ore.
John Grant of the Rochester Knighthawks earned both the overall and offensive player of the week awards. Pat McCready of the Buffalo Bandits was named the transition player of the week and Chicago Shamrox forward Cody Jacobs was named rookie of the week.
