
Minnesota Swarm To Host Buffalo Bandits Sunday

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm will play host to division rival Buffalo Bandits this weekend. The teams will play at Xcel Energy Center Sunday, March 4 at 1:00 PM. Minnesota enters the weekend in second place in the East Division with a 5-3 record, while the Bandits carry a 5-4 record, including a 2-3-road mark into Sunday's game.
Minnesota heads into March after a perfect month of February in which the team won all four games including a sweep over the New York Titans Feb. 17 and 18. The Swarm finished off the month last week with an impressive 19-11 road win over the Chicago Shamrox.
Ryan Ward leads Minnesota in scoring with 48 points (14-34=48) including 23 points (7-16=23) in the three games since being named to the NLL East's All-Star team Feb. 22. Mike Hominuck leads the team with 16 goals and ranks second on the club with 42 points (16-26=42), including 18 points in three games since being acquired from Portland. Goalie Nick Patterson boasts a 4-3 record, ranking fourth in the league with a .775 save percentage and sixth with an 11.66 goals-against average (GAA).
Buffalo heads into the weekend having won its last three contests, including two road wins. Buffalo has averaged only 10.40 goals per game on the road this season. John Tavares leads the Bandits with 60 points (25-35=60). Goaltender Steve Dietrich ranks T-2nd in the league with a .787 save percentage and fourth with a 10.97 GAA. Pat McCready leads the team with 93 loose balls in nine games. Buffalo ranks second in the league with a .550 power play percentage and Minnesota ranks third at .533%.
The first 5,000 fans attending Sunday's game, presented by Comcast, will receive a Swarm team poster. All fans are welcome to join players and performance team members for an autograph session following the game in the main concourse. The Swarm will also welcome special guest Jeff Dubay, of the P.A. and Dubay show on KFAN, who will host an on-field halftime contest.
