Northern Michigan Predators News Release

The new minor league professional hockey team located at Polar Bear Ice and Fitness now has a name. Thomas Tytar of Harbor Springs has won two season tickets for the team now called The Northern Michigan Predators. The Predators are set to begin their inaugural season with training camp opening in November.

"The response to the contest was almost overwhelming." Said Joe Kolodziej GM of The Predators and Polar Bear. "The day after the team was announced we had people calling the rink, mailing in entries and just stopping buy to give us their suggestions."

"The community support thus far has been fantastic!"

The Northern Michigan Predators would also like to announce a Free Agent tryout camp on Wednesday September 24th at Polar Bear Ice and Fitness. This camp is for local players wishing to have the opportunity to play professional hockey. Any players with college, minor pro or junior experience are welcome to apply. This camp wil be played under IIHL rules. Physicals will be provided along with dry land testing, and scrimmaging.
