North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Mason City (IA) The principal is coming so clean up those desks and stand up straight so as to make as good of an impression as possible. North American Hockey League commissioner Mark Frankenfeld is scheduled to attend the North Iowa Outlaws' home game against Bismarck this Friday night at 7:30pm at the North Iowa Ice Arena. The visit is part of a season-long tour of NAHL venues for Frankenfeld, and will also serve as an opportunity for him to receive an update on how preparations for this spring's Robertson Cup tournament are coming.
Frankenfeld will also drop the ceremonial opening face-off before Friday's game.
2008-2009 marks the NAHL's second full season under the direction of Frankenfeld after he spent three seasons as its Director of Hockey Operations. Frankenfeld also was a coach and front office staff member in the NAHL for nearly a decade working with the Texas Tornado, Cleveland Jr. Barons and Dayton Gems. Collegiately, he also was an assistant coach at both Miami-Ohio and Buffalo State.
The visit by Frankenfeld is just part of a weekend muffin-topping with promotions ranging from Taco John's annual Team Photo giveaway, to a chance for kids to take a shot on the Outlaws' goaltenders following Saturday's game.
The Outlaws take on Bismarck at 7:30pm on both Friday and Saturday.
The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
