SPOKANE, WA (April 14, 2012) - The Milwaukee Mustangs (2-2) fell 57-26 to the Spokane Shock (2-3) on Saturday evening, as penalties and turnovers played a critical role in the game's outcome.

Having not played since March 29, the Mustangs struggled throughout the contest, committing 18 penalties for 115 yards and scoring only 10 points in the second half amidst a deafening crowd at Veterans Arena.

The game began with a Shock scoring drive, as quarterback Kyle Rowley connected with Adron Tennell on a 16-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead. After an 11-play, seven minute drive, Gino Guidugli got the Mustangs on the board when he snuck into the end zone to tie the game.

The Shock scored again when Terence Moore intercepted a Guidugli pass and zig-zagged his way into the end zone. But Luis Vasquez blocked the extra point attempt and the ball was recovered by Ki'Ameer-Silk Johnson and returned for a defensive two-point conversion to cut the score to 13-9. The Shock, however, would get the two points back on their next defensive series when Jeremy Geathers sacked Guidugli in the end zone for a safety.

Spokane increased its lead to 22-9 when Brandon Thompkins ran the ball into the end zone from one yard out with 6:35 remaining in the second quarter. The Mustangs answered back when Guidugli and Jared Jenkins hooked up on a 26-yard touchdown pass, but another Tennell touchdown reception sent the Mustangs to the locker room trailing 29-16.

Milwaukee tacked on a 30-yard field goal to open the second half, but Thompkins helped the Shock take control of the game. First, the receiver scored on a rushing touchdown to give the Shock a commanding 17- point lead. Then he added two consecutive receiving touchdowns to extend the Shock lead to 50-19 with 11 minutes to play in the game.

Spokane continued to roll late in the fourth quarter with Tennell's third touchdown reception of the game that gave the Shock a 57-19 advantage. Although Justin Lawrence scored a late rushing touchdown for Milwaukee, the Mustangs were saddled with a 57-26 loss.
