Mustangs Announce Roster

Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release


Beaumont, TX. The ABA Southeast Texas Mustangs ended their first Veterans Training Camp on Friday and have announced their 12 man active roster. "This by far is the most talented team I've ever coached," stated Mustangs head coach Steve Tucker. "We have the potential to truly be a special team and challenge for the ABA Championship."

The Mustangs have six former ABA All-Stars on their roster led by Power Forward DeRon Rutledge, who is a 20 point, double figure rebounder for his career. Rutledge welcomes former All-Stars Donald Harris, Jerry Williams, Jamaal Davis, Alvin Jefferson, and Anthony Lumpkin. The roster:

Tim Pledger, 6'1 guard from Delta State U

Anthony Lumpkin, 6'1 guard from Southeast Missouri State

Donald Harris, 6'4 guard/forward from Lambuth U

Keith Richardson, 5'10 guard from Illinois State U

Jerry Williams, 6'6 forward from Cumberland U

Currye Todd, 6'5 forward from Lamar U

DeRon Rutledge, 6'6 forward from Texas A & M - Kingsville

Lamar Sanders, 6'7 forward from Lamar U

Donnie Jackson, 6'9 forward/center from Southern Utah U

Alvin Jefferson, 6'10 center/forward from Auburn U

Johnny Tyson, 6'11 center/forward from Central Oklahoma U

Jamaal Davis, 6'10 forward/center from U Cincinnati

Julius Lampley, 7'1 center from HS in Oklahoma City
