1st Period
After a brief feeling-out period, the Lumberjacks opened the scoring at 12:11 of the first period after he redirected a shot from defenseman Jacob Guevin. Jacob Napier picked up the secondary assist to give Muskegon the 1-to-0 lead.
But just under two minutes later, Team USA scored the equalizer by Cutter Gauthier at 13:56 of the period. Gauthiers' goal was unassisted.
The Lumberjacks would pull ahead by one by Jake Richard at 18:38 of the opening period. Phil Tresca and Jack Williams assisted on Richard's second goal of the season.
