Moline, Ill. (December 22, 2009) - The host Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, Tuesday night fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks 4-2 as Muskegon's Robin Bouchard scored a goal and added an assist and the Lumberjacks' Todd Robinson collected three assists.

At 9:26 of the first period Muskegon first jumped in front when David Rohlfs scored in a goalmouth scramble. Patrick Levesque's drive from the high slot tied the game at one at 13:08 of the first.

At 4:18 of the second period Russ Smith's long range wrist shot put Muskegon back on top for good. The Lumberjacks extended the lead to 3-1 while on the power play when Adam Welch blasted what would prove to be the game winning goal home from the left wing circle at 18:13 of the second. The Mallards bounced back to reduce the gap to one when Mike Zbriger charged off the left wing boards to jam the puck in from the side of the net just 26 seconds later.

Quad City was unable to produce an equalizer in the third period before Bouchard provided some insurance for Muskegon by ripping the Lumberjacks' fourth goal in under the cross bar from the right wing circle with just over five minutes remaining.
