
Muskegon Continues To Celebrate With Wins

ROCHESTER, MI--- Muskegon continues to celebrate their golden anniversary in style, streaking to eight straight wins. In the last three weeks, the 'Jacks have compiled an 8-0-1-0 record with a nine-game undefeated streak, currently the longest in the IHL. During the nine-game streak, they have only allowed 21 goals against for a goals against average of 2.26. Goaltender Sebastien Centomo is riding a five-game winning streak, posting a 2.20 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in those five games. Rookie netminder Matt Lundin is undefeated a professional, earning a 4-0-0-0 record in his first four pro starts, with three of those four wins coming in overtime.

Leading the pack for the Lumberjacks are their top three scorers, Robin Bouchard, Todd Robinson and John DiPace, who also rank in the top three in the IHL in scoring. Bouchard and Robinson are tied for the league lead in points, earning a total of 26 in 15 games played so far. Bouchard had his seven game point streak snapped Saturday, but Robinson is riding a four-game goals streak where he has recorded four tallies. DiPace, who is just one point behind his team mates for the league lead, is riding a league-high five-game goal streak where he has notched in five goals.

Fort Wayne goaltender Tim Haun has played stellar for the Komets after Nick Boucher was placed on the 30-day injured reserve. Haun has started seven straight games, earning a 5-2-0-0 record in those seven games. He has given up only 14 goals against in those games, helping improve his IHL leading goals against average to 2.19. Haun currently has a 6-3-0-0 record for the Komets.

Friday night, the Fort Wayne Komets saw their four-game home winning streak snapped after losing 3-2 to Muskegon at Memorial Coliseum. The following night, the Komets traveled to Bloomington where the PrairieThunder were looking to extend their own home undefeated streak to seven. The Komets got the best of the PrairieThunder, earning the 3-1 victory and ending their streak at six. The six-game undefeated streak at US Cellular Coliseum is a franchise record for the PrairieThunder.

Bloomington PrairieThunder (0-1-0-0)- The PrairieThunder had its franchise record season-opening six-game winningÂ
streak snapped Saturday by Fort Wayne in a 3-1 setback. It also broke a seven-game home winning streak dating back to last season. Jamie Carroll scored the lone goal in the game for Bloomington and marked the 10th game in 12 that he has played where he has scored at least one point. Craig Macdonald had a string of three straight games of scoring two goals stopped. Ryan Finnerty has scored at least one point in six of the last seven games and 12 points in 14 games overall. The PrairieThunder used a different kind of stick Wednesday with positive results. Rather than practice Wednesday, the players raked eight lawns for the elderly and disabled.Â

Dayton Gems (2-1-0-0)- This past week, the Gems faced off against the Generals twice, earning both victories. The
Generals will travel to Dayton again this coming Friday and will be the second Friday in a row for the Generals vs. Gems match up. The Gems are undefeated against the Generals so far this season. This Wednesday, when the Gems take on the Bloomington PrairieThunder, it will be the first Wednesday for a Gems home game since the exhibition games against Evansville on October 14th. The Gems have 15 more Wednesdays to play this season and five of those wild weeknights will have Dayton meeting Bloomington. Four Gems have Fathers that were also on the ice. A.J. MacLean, Mike Mullen and Dan LaPointe's fathers all played in the NHL and Bryan Nathe's dad played with Toledo in the old IHL.

Flint Generals (0-2-0-0)- With two losses this weekend, both at the hands of Dayton, the Generals have entered their longest losing streak of the season which now stands at six games. The Generals have four games in five days this week starting Wednesday, November 25th when they host $1 Draft Night and Coats for Kids as the Muskegon Lumberjacks visit Perani. The last time these two Michigan teams met, despite the great play of Rob Nolan, the 'Jacks dominated, winning 6-3. Jamie Schaafsma has been the scoring savior of the Generals this season, leading the team both in goals (7) and assists (8) for 15 points, and also leads the team in shots with 51. With his assist on Sunday, John Ronan reached 80 career assists. Craig Cescon will play in his 80th career game on Wednesday.

Fort Wayne Komets (2-1-0-0)- The Komets improved to 9-4-0-0 winning two out of three for the week. The Komets
continue undefeated in games needing extra time (4-0) with a 4-3 shootout win at Quad City Sunday. The Komets will host their 48th consecutive Thanksgiving night game Thursday. The Komets are 8-3-0-0 in the last 11 home Thanksgiving games and 29-14-2-2 overall since the tradition began in 1962. P.C. Drouin (LW) skated his 300th Fort Wayne career game Saturday at Bloomington. The Komets scored five power play goals in 16 chances for a 31.1% efficiency with the man advantage and rank second in the IHL on the power play. The Komets also were successful in 17 of 18 penalty kills for 94.4% and have the league's second-best penalty kill after six weeks of play.

Muskegon Lumberjacks (3-0-0-0)- Muskegon is undefeated so far in the month of November (8-0-1-0). Through their first 15 games of the season, the Lumberjacks have surrendered more than three goals against in a single game just once. The 'Jacks are a perfect 3-0 in overtime this season and dating back to last season, they have won seven in a row in overtime. In their last six games, Muskegon has outscored its opponents in the third period 10-1. Muskegon has the top five defensive plus players in Krug (+11), Galvin (+8), Palmer (+6), Lawmaster (+6) and Welch (+6). Head coach Rich Kromm (141) is eight victories away from tying Todd Nelson (149) for the most Muskegon coaching victories. In two of the Lumberjacks three victories the past week, they surmounted third period deficits in ultimately prevail.

Port Huron Icehawks (2-1-0-0)- The Icehawks have averaged more shots per game than any team in the league (32.9) and have allowed the fewest shots against (28.6). Mike Kinnie netted two goals this week, giving him sole possession of the IHL lead in goals at 13. His five power play goals lead the league as well, as do his 69 shots. Kinnie has had at least a share of the league lead in all three categories for nearly the entire season. Rookie defenseman Mike Gershon scored his first professional goal on Saturday as the Icehawks defeated Dayton 4-1. Mickael Bedard extended his point streak to six games this week, with four assists in the Icehawks' three games. He leads the league in points among rookies with ten (3g, 7a). Bedard has scored eight of his ten points during his point streak.

Quad City Mallards (0-1-1-1)- The Mallards picked up one point in each of their last two games- an overtime loss last Saturday night in Muskegon and a shootout setback yesterday against Fort Wayne. This marks the first time this season the Mallards collected points in consecutive games. Justin White made his Mallards debut and scored his first career goal last Friday in a 3-1 loss in Port Huron. The Mallards have scored power play goals in each of their last four games after scoring just two power play goals in their first eight goals. Marc Rechlicz has picked up four fighting majors in six games since joining the Mallards. Mike Zbriger scored at even strength just 47 seconds into the Mallards' game Sunday against the Fort Wayne Komets to end a stretch that had seen the Mallards go 143:07 without an even strength goal.
