Music City Kittens Gear Up For 2007

January 17, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Nashville Kats News Release

NASHVILLE- The Titans Cheerleaders returned to practice last night after a restful two-week off-season to begin their transformation into the Music City Kittens. During our two-week break, we've had several successes that make the Kittens one of the most renowned squads in the Arena Football League:

Congratulations to 2nd year veteran and Marshall University grad, Dana Romanello. Dana is one of only FIFTEEN (15) individuals invited worldwide to attend an international Bluegrass Symposium scheduled next month to discuss the marketing, management and advancement of the Bluegrass Music Industry. Dana currently works on Music Row with Kix Brooks and his American Country Countdown program.

Congratulations to 3rd year veteran, Stephanie Davis. Stephanie teaches fifth grade in Rutherford County and is one of only SIX (6) teachers in the county (inclusive of ALL grade levels, K-12) invited to attend a National Seminar for Science Teachers in St. Louis, MO in March. Moreover, she has been given the additional honor of participating as a PRESENTER at the seminar because of her extensive knowledge of marine biology.

Congratulations to 5th year veteran and captain, Sissy Gillespie. After only six months in her new position with MDHA (the Housing Authority), she has been asked to be the company's statewide spokesperson! She will appear in all advertising campaigns, including both print and television advertisements as well as participate in speaking engagements.

Congratulations to 5th year veteran and captain, Valerie McAllester. Valerie has a degree in fashion merchandising from Tennessee Tech University and has put it to great use. She is the Manager of the Express store at Rivergate Mall. Her store is NUMBER ONE (1) in the state of Tennessee for sales and employee satisfaction! Valerie is now being considered for corporate promotions within the Express Brands Group.

Congratulations to 2nd year veteran and MTSU nursing student, Tandra Caldwell. Tandra was cast as the lead in a Chevrolet national television campaign. She appears with NASCAR great, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and recording artist, T.I. Watch for the ad's scheduled debut during the SUPERBOWL!

Congratulations to rookie, Megan Gladden. After recently winning "Rookie of the Year," Megan was accepted to medical school at both the University of Alabama and at the University of South Alabama! Megan may defer her acceptance one year, however, in order to cheer on the Titans during the 2007 season and Kats in 2008!

Finally, Chasity Dillon, Julia Davis, and Megan Gladden all received and accepted marriage proposals over the holidays. All are planning 2008 weddings, after the playoffs, of course! Thanks for taking an interest and reading about the amazing women that represent our organization with such beauty and class. We are fortunate to have so many talented, successful women wearing a Titans Cheerleading uniform on Sundays and a Kittens costume on Friday nights!

The Kats 2007 season is set to kick-off Thursday, March 1st when the club hosts the Columbus Destroyers. Nashville will compete in the AFL's Central Division, a talent-rich division that houses the past two ArenaBowl Champions (Chicago Rush 2006, Colorado Crush 2005) and added the Kansas City Brigade in a realignment change.
