Murray grabs CIFL honors

Miami Valley Silverbacks wide receiver George Murray became the third member of the squad to grab Continental Indoor Football League honors Wednesday morning.

Murray was named the CIFL's Offensive Player of the Week following his performance Saturday night against the Chesapeake Tide. Murray finished the game with eight catches for 106 yards and four touchdowns. The Silverbacks, however, dropped the contest 54-53 on a score with :24 left by the host.

Mark Bly was the first Silverback to earn CIFL honors, grabbing Offensive Player of the Week honors in week five against Springfield. Chris Respress represented the defensive, earning Defensive Player of the Week honors in week nine against Kalamazoo.

Miami Valley is off this week, but will still be busy as they prepare for their first trip to the postseason. The Silverbacks open the CIFL Great Lakes Division playoffs the weekend of June 29-30 at a location still to be announced.
