BLAZERS CLAIM SHOOTOUT WIN - On Thursday night, Oklahoma City goaltender Sean Connors made 46 saves and Tim Earl scored the game-winner in a shootout to defeat the Mudbugs 4-3 in front of 5,637 fans at the CenturyTel Center. Jason Basile opened the scoring early in the first period, but Oklahoma City built a 2-1 lead on goals from Gio Flammino and Jared Dumba. In the second period, Jeremy Downs scored his first professional goal to tie the game at 2-2 going into the third period. Brett Smith gave the Mudbugs a 3-2 lead just two minutes into the third on a nice setup from Blair Manning for a power play goal. But Blazers' forward Mike Beausoleil tied the game and Connors made seven of eight saves in the shootout to give the Blazers their fourth shootout win of the year.

BUGS RETURN THE FAVOR IN OT - Chad Kemp scored just 1:22 into overtime to give the Mudbugs a 3-2 victory over the Oklahoma City Blazers in front of 7,320 fans at the Ford Center on Friday night. After the Blazers took a 2-1 lead on a power play goal from Mario Chinelli, former Blazer Blair Manning scored just 1:24 later with a nice deflection to tie the game at 2-2 in the second period. After a scoreless third period, Kemp's slap shot from the blue line in overtime beat Blazer goaltender Sean Connors for his second career goal and first of the year. The Mudbugs again played the game with just four defensemen and Ken Carroll made 32 saves for the victory.

LUBBOCK SPOILS NEW YEAR'S EVE - On Saturday evening, the Mudbugs closed out the 2005 portion of their season with a 5-1 loss at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum against the Lubbock Cotton Kings. The loss in the Mudbugs' third game in three nights drops their record to 13-11-3 this season. Milan Vodrazka gave the Mudbugs a good start with his second goal of the year just 2:22 into the game, but the Cotton Kings would score five unanswered goals including four on the power play. After a scoreless second period, the Kings took a 2-1 lead into the third and converted on three more power plays with goals from Matt McNeely, Josh Anderson, and Nolan Graham.

POWER PLAY AT BUFFALO WILD WINGS OFF THIS WEEK- Due to the Mudbugs' home game on Tuesday January 3rd, "Power Play with Scott Muscutt" will not take place at Buffalo Wild Wings. The weekly coaches show will return to the Louisiana Boardwalk on Tuesday January 10th at 6:00 p.m.

MUDBUGS NOTES - Dan Wildfong's next game will be the 400th of his Mudbugs career and he will join Jim Sprott and Trevor Buchanan as the only players in franchise history to reach the milestone..... Eight of the Mudbugs' eleven games in the month of January will be played at home.

THIS WEEK - This week, the Mudbugs will host the Youngstown SteelHounds on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at the CenturyTel Center. Then on Friday, they will travel to the Kansas Coliseum for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff against the Wichita Thunder. On Saturday, the Memphis RiverKings will host the Mudbugs at 7:05 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center. Both road games will be b
