Mudbugs vs. Eagles: Game 4 Tonight

April 6, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Tonight at the CenturyTel Center, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs look to start their playoff comeback in Game 4 of the Northern Conference Semifinals at 7:05 pm. The Mudbugs trail the Colorado Eagles three games to none in the series, but a win tonight would extend the series to a Game 5 tomorrow night in Bossier City.

The 'Bugs have lost three straight one-goal games in the series and have been tied with Colorado in the third period of all three games. Bossier-Shreveport lost Game 2 after the Eagles scored with 32 seconds left in regulation to break a 3-3 tie. Then in Game 3 at the CTC, Brett Smith's goal early in the third period tied the score at two and pushed the game into overtime, but Fraser Filipic scored the game-winner on a rebound to give Colorado the commanding 3-0 series lead.

The 'Bugs are 2-0 with their season on the line in then '09 playoffs, having won back-to-back elimination games in the opening round against Rocky Mountain. Bossier-Shreveport won 5-4 in overtime in Game 2 before winning the series with a 5-3 triumph in the deciding Game 3. No team in CHL/WPHL history has ever rallied from a 0-3 series deficit to win a best-of-seven series, and tonight the 'Bugs look to avoid being swept from the playoffs for the second year in a row.

Tickets for tonight's Game 4 are on sale now at the CenturyTel Center main box office. Individual tickets are also available by calling 318-741-9700 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Group ticket packages for all Mudbugs playoff action are available through the team office inside CenturyTel Center or by calling 318-752-BUGS.
