Batavia Muckdogs News Release

Batavia, NY - Less than 24 hours after exploding for 12 runs, the Muckdogs bats seemed as if they did not get enough sleep on Friday night. On Saturday, Batavia was only able to score two runs, en route to a 3-2 loss in 13 innings.

The Muckdogs jumped to a 2-0 lead, courtesy of a Jake Blalock sacrifice fly in the 1st and a Joe Brunink single in the 3rd. Unfortunately, that would be all the scoring for the 'Dogs on the afternoon.

A 2 run 5th by the Expos would tie the game. that would also complete the scoring for another 8 innings.

It would take until the top of the 13th for either team to put another run on the board, Larry Wayne York singled to left and made his way to third thanks to an infield ground ball and a wild pitch. Kory Casto singled down the third base line to plate York and give the Expos their first advantage during their time in Batavia.

Joe Brunink would double in the bottom of the 13th, but was stranded and the game ended as such.

The Muckdogs continue their homestand on Sunday vs. the Expos, gametime is 6:05pm.
