
Morris Scores First Goals of the Season as Boston Falls to Rochester on the Road

Boston, MA-The Boston Blazers traveled to Rochester on Saturday afternoon to take on the Rochester Knighthawks for their third road game of the season. Despite strong offensive efforts by Sean Morris and Matt Lyons, Boston was defeated 11-9.
Rochester opened the scoring early with a power play goal by Craig Point with assists by John Grant and Gary Gait but Morris countered quickly off an assist from Blazers captain Dan Dawson. Jamie Rooney, Boston's most recent acquisition from the Knighthawks, Lyons, and Morris each knocked in a point making it a 4-3 Boston lead at the half.
A strong third quarter brought the Knighthawks back into the lead as Shawn Williams, Grant, and Point all recorded goals. Lyons and Kyle Ross brought Boston back to even scoring early in the fourth.
Rooney would score Boston's last goal of the afternoon in which the team was outscored 8-5 in the fourth quarter. Point scored the go-ahead goal at the 9:57 mark securing the Rochester win.
Morris led Boston with three goals while Lyons and Rooney both recorded two goals and one assist each. Boston's goaltender Anthony Cosmo had a strong defensive outing with 42 saves. With the win, Rochester's Matt O'Toole (41 saves) records his 100th career victory.
