Philadelphia, PA, March 2, 2004 – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that Philadelphia KiXX defender Pat Morris has been named the League's Defensive Player of the Month for his play throughout the month of February. The honor marks the second such accolade for Morris this season; the Philadelphia native also received the monthly honor for his performance in January.

Morris solidified the KiXX defense with a team-high 12 blocks in the club's five contests during the month, while pacing the club's offense with a team-high seven points on three goals and four points. The 26-year old defender registered a game-high four points (one goal, three assists) and four blocks in the team's 9-3 win versus the Baltimore Blast on February 7, and then blocked a game-high five shots in the club's 5-4 victory in Milwaukee on February 8.

The two-time all-star now ranks second in the MISL with 58 blocks this season and is fourth on the team's scoring list with 23 points on 15 goals and eight assists. In addition to his two monthly accolades, Morris also garnered MISL Defender of the Week honors for the seven-day periods ending December 28 and January 11.

Morris was named to the All-Rookie team in 1999-00 and to an All-League team twice, 2001-02 and 2002-03. The Philadelphia University graduate finished his collegiate career fourth all-time in school history with 49 goals and 120 points.
