More Western Conference rivals on Monarchs 2007 television schedule

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., Mar. 26, 2007- The 2006 WNBA Western Conference Champion Sacramento Monarchs today announced the organization's complete television schedule. The franchise will locally produce and televise eight games in 2007, which includes more than half of their Western Conference road games. The local television package includes three games on News10 (ABC) and five games on Comcast SportsNet (CSN).

Nationally, the Monarchs will be featured five times, once on ABC (News10) and four times on ESPN2. In all, Monarchs fans will have the opportunity to watch their team take on Western Conference rivals on the road on seven occasions with the combination of the local and national television broadcasts.

The Monarchs will appear on News10 (ABC) for the fifth season, beginning with an Opening Day rematch of the 2006 WNBA Finals on Saturday, May 19, at the 2006 WNBA Champion Detroit Shock in a nationally televised game, at 12:30 p.m. PDT.

For the third season, Comcast SportsNet (CSN) will carry Monarchs games. Their first Monarchs broadcast of the season will be on Tuesday, May 29, when Sacramento takes on the Phoenix Mercury, at 7:00 p.m., at US Airways Center.

"The Monarchs are an integral part of the sports landscape in Sacramento and we are delighted once again to prominently feature the team in our spring and summer programming lineup," said CSN General Manager Larry Eldridge. Jim Kozimor, in his ninth season with the franchise, will call the play-by-play on both News10 and Comcast SportsNet with Monarchs analyst Krista Blunk, in her 11th season.
