OTTAWA – The aftermath of Grey Cup 2004 continues to provide a positive impact for the Ottawa region.

A financial donation of $700 was made to the Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre from the Argos Old Faithfuls – a group that gave all monetary collections made from its open Grey Cup party (November 19). The Argos Old Faithfuls posted signs around the room requesting donations for the event, as it was a no-charge evening for the food and refreshments and a cheque was issued to the physical rehab centre that helps people maximize their independence and their ability to re-adapt and rebuild their lives.

In a previous fundraising event, the Renegades raised more than $30,000 for the Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre through the club's Gridiron Gourmet event.

"We are pleased the Argos Old Faithful decided to donate to such a good cause," said Brad Watters, president of the Renegades. "To have the Grey Cup as the event that helps another worthwhile organization such as the Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre is another indication of how important the championship was to the city."

"We are very pleased to provide this funding, which we hope will be of great assistance to the centre," said Richard LeVear, Vice-President of the Argos Old Faithfuls. "We thank the people of Ottawa for the great week we had there and appreciate the courtesy that was continually shown by everyone we met."
