More Baseball At Dow Diamond

MIDLAND, MI - Even though the Great Lakes Loons are on the road, baseball continues in Midland as Dow Diamond hosts five amateur baseball games spanning from Tuesday, April 27 to Saturday, May 1.

High school baseball teams will grace Dow Diamond from Tuesday to Friday, while Saturday will pit Northwood University against Saginaw Valley State University. Listed below is the schedule of games, all times are subject to change.

Tuesday, April 27 Freeland vs. Swan Valley 4:30 p.m. gates / 5:00 first pitch

Wednesday, April 28 Bridgeport vs. Chesaning 3:30 p.m. gates / 4:00 first pitch

Thursday, April 29 Carman-Ainsworth vs. Flint Kearsley 4:30 p.m. gates / 5:00 first pitch

Friday, April 30 Ogemaw Heights vs. Bay City Central 4:00 p.m. gates / 4:30 first pitch

Saturday, May 1 Northwood University vs. SVSU 3:30 p.m. gates / 4:00 first pitch

"One of our goals is to make Dow Diamond available for as many community events as we can," Great Lakes Loons General Manager Paul Barbeau said. "We're excited to host the five amateur games this week and allow some of the area's younger baseball talent to enjoy our award-winning ballpark."

The Loons return to Dow Diamond Tuesday, May 4 to host the Detroit Tigers Single-A affiliate, the West Michigan Whitecaps. The 7:05 p.m. game, as well as all other Loons Tuesday night games, is $1 Family Feast Night presented by Chemical Bank, which features $1 hot dogs, 16 oz. Coke products, and ice-cream sandwiches throughout the game. Tuesday is also Bay City Central High School Spirit Night.
