Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY. The ABA Buffalo Silverbacks received a nice letter following a recent Do Your Best, Never Quit seminar from the Gloria J. Park Community Center. "On behalf of the Gloria J. Park Community Center, myself and the children that attended the seminar would like to thank Mr. Modie Cox and DeRon Rutledge for coming out and giving their Do Your Best, never Quit life and basketball seminar.

I have been a part of many clinics where presenters come in and throw the balls around, say a few things to the kids, shake their hands and leave. This particular clinic was different. Modie and DeRon really got involved with the kids. The Silverbacks performed a few fundamental basketball drills and described what it takes to become the best they can be. But most importantly, they demonstrated their Do Your Best, Never Quit philosophy and how it applies to all of life.

I was blown away by the message and what it means. I looked at the faces of these children and saw how they were clinging on every word of the Silverbacks' message. In my opinion, these kids were not given a seminar, but hope. My own daughter was in the crowd that evening and I as a father was thrilled that she received that message. There were also some parents in attendance who were captivated by the message and looked more attentive than the kids when the message was being delivered.

The message the Silverbacks are instilling in our children is priceless. You guys took time out of your schedule to come and talk with the children, play basketball with them and stayed an hour alter--just to interact with them. It gives me a sense of pride to know the Silverbacks are doing more than basketball for the children of WNY; you are helping shape the lives of young people's futures. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Thank you for creating good will in the community. Sincerely, Corey.
