Miami Morays News Release

The Miami Morays and team owner Oronde Gadsden are pleased to announce the hiring of two veteran coaches and former players to bolster their coaching staff. Tony Wells has been named the Offensive Coordinator and Ray Isaac has been named Defensive Coordinator.

"Coach Wells and Isaac have a wealth of knowledge of the game from both playing and coaching. Taking their expertise and combining it with Larry Little, I feel very confident that we will have one of the best coaching staffs in the NIFL." Oronde Gadsden said.

A graduate of Kent State University, Wells is a familiar face to South Florida arena football fans, playing four seasons as a wide receiver/defensive back with the Miami Hooters and Florida Bobcats from 1995 to 1998. In 2002, Wells made the jump to coaching with the AF2 Pensacola Barracudas as the receiver/DB coach in 2002 and next season was promoted to the Offensive Coordinator/Asst. Head Coach position with the AF2 Charleston Swamp Foxes, compiling a record of 9-7. In 2004, Wells served in the same capacity with the AF2 Wilkes-Barre Pioneers, going14-4. Overall, Well's has a .620 winning percentage.

"I am excited to be here and anxious to get back to South Florida where I played and coached arena ball. One of the big factors in my decision to coach here was looking at Coach Little and Oronde Gadsden's involvement with the team. This will be a first class organization because all they knew in the NFL was how to do things first class, and they want to pattern their structure after the NFL."

Heading up the Morays Defensive squad is Ray Isaac, an eight-year Arena Football and CFL. Isaac attended Youngstown State University where he quarterbacked them to their first championship in school history. In his playing career, Isaac played for the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL, the Cleveland Thunderbolts and Memphis Pharaohs in the Arena Football League, and the Charleston SwampFoxes in the AF2. In 2003, Isaac accepted the position as offensive coordinator/asst. head coach with the Myrtle Beach Stingrays, compiling a record of 8-8. Before joining the Morays, Isaac was named head coach of the Greenville Riverhawks right before they ceased operations.

"I think it is a great opportunity to join a coaching staff led up by a Hall of Famer in Larry Little, as well as a former teammate of mine in Tony Wells and Darius Hadley. Barring all of the offers that I had to become a head coach with other teams, I felt I wanted to commit to a team that wants a championship. I felt that the Morays presented that chance for me."

The Miami Morays will play in the National Indoor Football League, entering its fifth season with 28 teams located across the United States. The NIFL provides players with an opportunity to develop their skills and continue their careers in professional football.

Florida will be home to four new NIFL teams located in Lakeland, Kissimmee, Daytona Beach and Miami, providing natural geographical rivalries, as well as draw from the vast pool of football talent available in the state.

The Miami Morays kick off a 14 game schedule in March with seven home games at the Miami Arena. For additional information about the Miami Morays, please call Mark Fischel at 305-349-4466 or visit us at www.miamimoraysfootball.com.
