Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads selected high profile forward Martin Frk of the Czech Republic third overall today in the 2010 CHL Import Draft.
Frk, who spent the 2009-2010 season with HC Karlovy of the Czech Under 20 League, recorded 28 goals and 27 assists in just 39 games to go along with a whopping 184 penalty minutes. He also led the Czech Republic in scoring at the Under 18 World Championships this year with 7 points in 6 games.
"We're fortunate to have been able to take the best player available in this draft and we're going to work hard to get him in our lineup", stated Mooseheads Head Coach/GM Cam Russell. "Frk is also not eligible for the NHL Draft until 2012 which fits perfectly with our plans moving forward ".
